There are a number of DVD-related sites out there, and the number is
growing rapidly. This is not by any means meant to be a complete
listing. These are the ones I like and go back to. They are generally
organized with informational sites first, then commerce.
These are some other DVD pages I'm aware of but don't check on a
regular basis. This is not to say that they're not good, they're just
not the ones I hit every day.
- The DVD Resource Page:
The first DVD page I found. While not too much new content every day,
it's always entertaining. The reviews are very good. This is the place
I check first.
- DVD File: Comprehensive
release listings organized by distributor. Decent reviews. Interesting
contests. I've only been checking this site out for a short time, but
I like what I see.
- The Digital Bits: This
seems to be the king of DVD sites. Good editorial articles, and a
wealth of information. Also the spearhead of the anti-Divx campaign.
DVD Just Released List: Cool!
- DiVerseDVD (DVDVD): Price comparisons of
many online DVD retailers, including shipping. Cool!
- Bargainflix: Another
price search page, with coupons and special deals.
- Reel.com: Online retailer. They
always have amazing prices on preorders, and now they support accounts.
Online retailer. They have been doing DVD for a while, well before
they started advertising it. Their prices are good, and the site's got
a smooth interface.
- DVD Express: Online
retailer. I don't know
much about them, but they seem good.
- 800.com: A pretty good overall
DVD retailer. Their prices are low, and they give free shipping and
free popcorn with every movie (at least for now).
- #DVD News Page: This is
the web page for the #DVD IRC channel. I myself don't have enough time
to dabble in IRC, so I haven't checked it out, but the web site has a
ton of information. The only bad thing I have to say is that I
don't like the practice of putting other people's pages in a site's
content frame, which they've adopted. But that's really more of a
Back to DVD index.
